SENATE LEAGUE PREVIEW: JOHN ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL

 Moving along with our senate preview, we take a trip to the south east side of Cleveland and head to good ol' John Adams High!

Overall Preview: The Rebels will be looking to bounce back from their 2019 loss in the Senate City Championship against league rival John Hay. The Rebels will have a good core of senior and junior leadership, but they will have a lot to make up for with the underclassmen. The Rebels have a fairly tough non-conference schedule, but they could make it out of that with a good record going into conference play. We spoke with Rebel head coach Gary Jackson about the upcoming season.


    " This could be a very interesting season for us. Although we have a young and inexperienced group of kids, we have a nice group of core skill players that will help keep us in games. I feel we can compete with anyone, we just have to take it one game at a time."


FINAL PREDICTION: Like the rest of the Senate League, the Rebels will be looking for a chance to compete in the state playoffs, but don't think for one second that they have forgotten about their 2019 loss in the City Championship to rival John Hay. By the time week three comes around we will see where the Rebels are and how far they will go. I see good things in the future for the Rebels.


FINAL RECORD: A re-match with Lutheran East is in the season opener. After that they could possibly have a 3-0 start going in to Senate play. A 6-4 season will be a great start to the post covid rebuild.

     While we did apologize for there not being a stream for the Cobras game against the Leviathans back on May 20th. That did not stop the Cobras from coming home with the win that day. That game was also at a neutral site for both teams. This weekend however, the Cobras will be back home in lakewood at the "Snake Pit" for the first time in well over a year. ON SACRED GROUND: THE BIRTHPLACE OF CLEVELAND BASEBALL!!

My two favorite players of all time are Ken Griffey Jr. and    Albert Belle. As a kid growing up my friends and i would play games upon games of baseball from sun up to sun down. I even went so far as to be the kid with the best swing on the street( i tried my hardest to emulate my swing to look like Griffey's).  As I grew up i saw the wars between the Indians and Mariners in the playoffs. TRADITION, LEGACY, CHAMPIONSHIP!

        On April 12th, 2024 the Cleveland Crunch began their playoff run with the ambition to do two things. First, avenge a 2023 playoff loss to MLIS rival Omaha, and second, add a fifth star to their team crest. On April 14th, 2024 the Crunch did just that. They first dismantled rival Rapid City in the semi-finals 11-5 and punched their ticket to the MLIS finals. Then once they learned their Opponent was another MLIS rival in the Omaha Kings. The Crunch went to work and handled business by beating the Kings 9-4 and won their second league championship in four years and their fifth in team history.  The best part about this championship is that the Crunch were playing with something to prove all season.
