THE START OF SOMETHING GOOD: MLIS IS FOR THE FANS!!

Now that the excitement of the inaugural season of Major League Indoor Soccer has died down, I figured this would be the right time. First, Congratulations to the Rapid City Football Club on winning the inaugural 2023 MLIS championship. They truly deserved it. To be honest, they were the most prepared team in the final four, but if we are being completely honest this was the first time in a long time a professional sports league got their playoff teams right on the first try. What I mean by that is this. Each team that won their division did so, then the next best teams got in based on their record. NOBODY complained or felt slighted. Could there have been a couple more teams that got in? Sure, but for the first season this was the right call.

We all can agree that not every game was called perfectly, but what we can agree on was that every league game was exciting and entertaining from start to finish. That is something that doesn't always happen. Not even in the NFL. For the first season of a new league it could have been a lot worse. Thankfully it wasn't and I'm sure that things will get better on that end in the future.

What stood out to us as a company was that the league put a emphasis on minimizing travel for the playoffs. To us this was a great move. A central location for each team to make it to in almost under five hours. The other great thing the MLIS did was put a emphasis on fan support. Most games from Cleveland, to Houston, and even Detroit had great fan support. This was also the first time that i can remember a sports league putting a effort into Broadcasting both home and away games so fans could get the best experience possible. Was that perfect as well? NO, but again that is something that can and will be improved on in the Future. We ( the 216 Sports Network) were fortunate enough to broadcast two Crunch away games. Most pro leagues won't even give small media outlets the time of day. So for that we extend our gratitude to the MLIS for the honor of being able to broadcast our first professional games as a company.

We won't compare this league to other leagues in the past. What we will say is this. We here at the 216 Sports Network see the vision and we support it fully. This was a exciting year for indoor soccer just in this league alone, and as avid soccer fans we expect it to only get better from here.

We here at the 216 Sports Network would like to again congratulate the 2023 champs Rapid City Fc on a great season and the MLIS for allowing us to be part of one hell of a season. See you in 2024!
