BACK IN THE SNAKE PIT!! COBRAS HOME OPENER THIS WEEKEND!!

While we did apologize for there not being a stream for the Cobras game against the Leviathans back on May 20th. That did not stop the Cobras from coming home with the win that day. That game was also at a neutral site for both teams. This weekend however, the Cobras will be back home in lakewood at the "Snake Pit" for the first time in well over a year. This week's visitors, the Mahoning Valley Ruff Ryderz. Before we get down to the nitty-gritty let's take a look at both teams for a in-depth analysis.

Cleveland Cobras:

Colors: Green, black, white

Head Coach: Adam Rogerson

Record: 1-0,( defeated Leviathans 20-3 May 20th)

Key players offense: Antonio Boyd, Emmet Calhoun, Malik Gabby

Key players defense: Reese Smith, Smoke Fortson, Devierre Glenn

Overall: The Cobras struggled in the first half against the Leviathans, but turned it up in the second half. Calhoun scored a rushing touchdown, while the defense had 6 sacks on the Leviathans quarterback as well as an interception for a touchdown. The defense has picked up from where they left off last season so do not be surprised if they make opposing qb's frustrated in the pocket. The offense however is a work in progress, but not because of not being able to gel. In football the offense is always behind the defense until the cobwebs of not being on the field all offseason get shaken. When this offense is in motion it's scary.

Mahoning Valley Ruff Ryderz:

Colors: Royal blue, Gray, White, Black

Head Coach: Todd Glover

Record: 0-2 (game results not available)

Key players offense: Frank Bond Sr., Kyree Dennis,

Key Players defense: George Freeman, Marcus Brown, Reggie Jones

Overall: We haven't heard or seen much of the Ryderz this offseason, but from past players and experiences with covering games involving the Ryderz there is one word that can describe them...SPEED!! They have plenty of it and it can cause a big problem real fast. Most of their speed is on defense which makes blocking assignments for offensive lines a hassle when you don't know who's coming from where. If their speed overtakes you, you're in for a long game.

Bottom line: Per usual, we cant give you a prediction as we will be in stadium broadcasting the game. What we can tell you is that anytime Cleveland and Youngstown hook up in a football game its going to be fireworks. These two cities are always fun to watch in sports so do not be surprised if this becomes a shoot-out and comes down to the wire. Kickoff will be at 7pm from famous "Snake Pit" at Garfield Middle School in Lakewood, Ohio. You can catch every play right here our Youtube Channel ( 216 Sports Network).
