TRI-POINT KICKS OFF IN HALL OF FAME CITY!!

This weekend the Tri-point Football league kicks off their second season, and it's starting with a bang! The weekend will kick off with the "Hall of Fame Classic". Four games at Staudt fields on the campus of Walsh University. The two three 'o'clock games will feature the Mahoning valley Ruff Ryderz vs. the Mountain State Outlawz on field one. While the Steel City Kingz will play the Tri-State Longhorns on field two. The two seven 'o'clock games will see the Canton Hurricanes take on defending league champ Greensburg Golden Hawks, while the Cleveland Cobras will take on the West Virginia Leviathans.

To get you ready for Saturday night, let's preview the game we will be covering as the Cobras look to get back to playoff form again Leviathans. First up, the Cobras.

Cleveland Cobas

Colors: Green, Black, White

2022 record: 4-5, lost to Ohio Bears in playoffs.

Head coach: Adam Rogerson (2nd year)

Key players offense: Deon "Red" Carter, Abe Taylor, Emmet Calhoun, Keyshawn Jones

Key players defense: Andy Coad, Cam Scott, Dontrell Nowling, Chris Frazier

Preview: The Cobras not only rebuilt, they reloaded! Adding keep pieces and some veterans such as Abe Taylor to what was already a good offensive core. The Defense sured up as well adding some well known players such as Nowling and Harlan Page. The Cobras will be looking to improve on their 4-5 record and a loss in the first round of the playoffs. You can be sure that Head coach Adam Rogerson will have the Snakes ready for Saturday night. The Cobras also bring back pieces on what was one of the leagues' top defenses when it came to turnovers. Andy Coad, Page, and Nowling will be looking to cause chaos in the backfield as they return and look in rare form.

West Virginia Leviathans

Colors: Purple, Gold, Black, White

2023 record:0-0 First year

Head Coach: Christopher Simpson

Key players offense: Seth Davis, Marcus Cooper, Jermell Corbitt

Key players defense: Austin Storey, Nicholas Ailport, Brandin Carr

Preview: This will be a big test for the Leviathans as they will be playing the Cobras under the bright lights, and with a veteran Coach at the helm like Chris Simpson the Leviathans should be ready. We have a feeling that the Leviathans will be a team to watch in the Mountain division so for those that will be watching this game Saturday night don't be surprised if the Leviathans are in the playoff hunt come July.

Overall: while we can't give a prediction to the game as we will be on the call, what we can say is there will be fireworks in Canton before the Hall of Fame inductions start in August. Leviathan was a biblical/ greek mythological sea creature that terrorized the deep seas and they always said "never trust a snake" So we will see which one hails true at the end of the game.

You can catch the game on our youtube channel( 216 Sports Network). There will be a 7pm Kickoff with our pre-game starting at 6:45-6:50. Rommel Thorpe and Rico Mcgee will be on the call bringing you all the action. We will see you Saturday!!
