SENATE LEAGUE GAME OF THE WEEK PREVIEW: RHODES VS. GLENVILLE

This week the top spot in the Senate league is on the line as the Rhodes Rams travel to the east side to play the Glenville Tarblooders in this weeks Game of the week. This will arguably be one of the most entertaining games in the league this season and both teams are looking to have a great showing against one another. For a more in depth perspective, here's a tale of the tape for both teams.

 Rhodes High school:

Record: 3-1
Conference record: 1-0
The Rams come into this week's game with a 3-game win streak and a 1-game conference Win streak after beating John Hay 36-0.

Glenville high school
Record 2-3
Conference Record: 1-0
The Tarblooders come in with a 2-game win streak after beating lake catholic and a 55-0 Conference win over rival Collinwood.

Skinny: both teams sit 1 and 2 respectively in Conference standings, but one will take sole possession at the top after this week. Glenville has not lost a Conference game since head coach Ted Ginn Sr. Took over (24 years ago.)

Overall: The Tarblooders have not lost a Senate league game since 1997 (24 years ago) and haven't struggled against any Senate team since head coach Ted Ginn sr. took over. The Tarblooders have a balanced offense and a bruising defense. Lead by Quarterback Ashton Pugh, The Tarblooders have a vaunted passing attack and can spread the ball around. Their speed on the edge makes it easy to set up the run. Defense is the name of the game for the Rams. They shutout John Hay last two weeks ago and will look to have a better showing against Glenville with the extra week of preparation. Their veteran secondary lead by Ty'Shawn Lane will be tested early and often.

FINAL PREDICTION: As good as the Rams are, they don't have the depth that the Tarblooders have as an overall team. That won't stop them from playing hard and playing defense. If the Rams Secondary can slow down the passing game this will be a close game. In fact, I will go out on the limb and say that the Rams will be playing with a huge chip on their shoulder and will have something to prove. With that being said, this game will be closer than the experts think.

Glenville 34
Rhodes 28
