NEW KID ON THE BLOCK!! PARKER CSISZAR!

With this year's edition of the Crunch you knew there would be some changes, and some things would stay stat quo. What we didn't expect is that the rookie class of Crunch players would stand out the way they have. Michael Presby, Bobby Tsirambidis, and Merouane Sadji have all been mentioned throughout the season, but there's one name we left off. That name, Parker Csiszar!
Making his debut on January 29th against Rapid City, Parker scored 3 goals and had 4 points and one assist. To say he has been on fire in putting it lightly. Through the season so far, Parker has played in five games and scored nine(9) goals with 11 points on the season and two assists. For players new to the indoor game that would be impressive, but for the Crunch it's a sign of things to come.
We had a chance to have a short phone interview with Parker and we were all ears...
" What has your experience with the Crunch been like so far?"
Parker: "It's been a really great experience. I'm having a great first season of professional indoor soccer. I've been learning the details of the game, the pace, and flow of everything. The vets have helped me learn the game in a big way."
" What were your influences growing up?"
Parker: My father(Tony) actually played for the Crunch a long time ago before he retired and I never got a chance to see him play professionally. I guess it's poetic now that he get's to see me play and we have a real father/son lineage linked to the team.
" What do you attribute to your success so far this season?"
Parker: "My success comes from the team, and coach Benny(Dargle) putting us in the position to play together and have a rhythm. Everyone on the team has helped me and the rest of the rookies get acclimated to the speed of the game which has been a big help."
" What were your expectations coming into the season?"
Parker: I really didn't know what to expect. I didn't know much about the sport or the team other than it was indoors. Seeing it now makes gives it a little more clarity and makes me focus on the ultimate goal which is to bring another championship back to Cleveland."
" What does the future hold for Parker?"
Parker: You never really know what the future holds. Indoor soccer is a great sport. It's fun, and the fans are great. I'd like to continue playing for the Crunch as long as I can. So anything is possible."
Not only is Parker one member of a great rookie class for the Crunch, he's also home grown. As a Cleveland State alumni, Parker has been part of some Great CSU Men's soccer teams so his talent is only peaking. With the way he's been playing this year he will definitely be a staple in future Crunch championship teams.
You can Catch Parker and the Crunch this weekend for the season finale as the Crunch are hosting a back-to-back slate. Starting with a rematch with the Cincinnati Swerve Saturday night and then the Detroit Waza Flo for the Sunday afternoon Matinee. Tickets for both games are almost sold out so hurry and get yours before they're gone!!
